Jump Start Summer Program
In August, LRCS will have a “Jump Start Summer Program” for students who may need a jump start to the school year.
RGS parents were contacted by teachers in June after completing an evaluation of students to identify those who would benefit most from an academic summer recovery program. Students will attend a 6-day jump-start for their next year learning and have specific, individualized intervention goals in ELA and/ or mathematics.
LES is continuing a summer program this year. In June, invites were sent home to those meeting requirements. Students will be assigned a small group based on their academic needs and goals. They will attend a 9-day, jump-start in ELA and mathematics. Lessons will incorporate hands-on activities and fun projects to engage learners.
This is the first year that summer school has been offered at LRMS. The focus is on helping students recover missed learning opportunities with an emphasis on mathematics including a hands-on Algebra experience. In addition, middle school students will also be participating in fun, STEM focused learning activities provided by our CTE/Ag program.
At LRHS, on-campus summer school is an in-person credit recovery program, it is designed for students who need to provide a few more examples of competency-based evidence to meet standard and pass a course. Additionally, Lind-Ritzville High School is offering credit retrieval for high school students through a locally controlled, teacher supported virtual program.
