• Dual Credit and College in the High School

Dual Credit provides students with the potential to earn high school and college credit at the same time. Dual credit options can be course or exam based. At Lind-Ritzville High School, students can earn college-level credit through Running Start, College in the High School (CHS), and Career and Technical Education (CTE) Dual Credit. These tests or courses may result in college course credit.

Why dual credit? In today's world, two-thirds of all jobs require some post-high school training or education. Taking dual credit is connected to higher high school graduation rates, college enrollment, and degree completion.

In order to earn college credit, the student must be in the 11th or 12th grade and earn a B or higher for the semester.  Grades submitted for college credit at the univerisity listed do go on the student's transcript.

Students who take multiple CiHS courses during the same trimester are able to take a college study lab course as an elective.  Please contact the high school counselor if you are interested in this additional form of support for college-bound students.
